Kaleb began rubbing his own arms, trying to get rid of the feeling of the cold. Tabet turned to look at him surprised.

-Oh! That's right, I foor-got -he said laughing-. Hyoomans can't take the cold very long without something to covoor them -and so he took a kind of tunic of seaweed from a compartment in the floor of the vehicle.

Seeing it, Kaleb could only remember the first time he saw Nango, using a very similar one, to peek behind the bars to see him.

Tabet placed the coat on the boy, and Kaleb began to warm up.

The Rash'aangu left the narrow channel and reached an immense lagoon.

Kaleb noticed that the lagoon was surrounded by gigantic mountains that looked like teeth. The shells of destroyed ships both Huachi and human, could be seen in every direction, some floating on the water, others stranded on the shores.

At the bottom of the lagoon was a cave that was barely big enough for a small ship to enter. The Rash'aangu would have no problem since this one was much smaller than a ship.

Tabet pointed towards the cave.

-That's it... -he told Kaleb-. We have to go throo that.

-There doesn't seem to be any threat -the boy whispered.

-It's here... -said Tabet seriously, giving the order to the navigator to stop the Rash'aangu.

The navigator stoppped the vehicle.

Tabet drew his huge hook from his back.

-There -said Tabet, pointing to the entrance of the cave.

-It's too dark -said Kaleb while trying to distinguish what the huachi warrior was pointing at-. I can't see inside.

-That's not the cave walls -replied Tabet.

Suddenly, the darkness that inhabited the cave moved towards the waters of the lagoon. The great mass of darkness momentarily submerged and began to spin, creating a small black whirlpool.

The shells of the boats and the vehicles began to move towards it slowly.

The warriors now felt how the vehicle began to be pulled by the current.

-E'chuk mai! -screamed Tabet. The navigator immediately began to reverse the vehicle, resisting the pull.

Seeing that it would not stop, Tabet went to the midship compartment and yanked it open, revealing Huachi armaments. Tabet quickly took a harpoon with a strange rope tied around it, one end being tied to the tip, the other to a tag.

Tabet launched the harpoon, which shot into the whirlpool. Once there he removed the tag and it lit up in a spark, as if it were a wick. The spark traveled with great speed along the length of the rope until it reached the harpoon, which exploded into a sphere of pink plasma.

Apparently that attack was enough, because the whirlpool of darkness stopped and began to emerge again. This time it looked like a tornado made of shadows over the water. The tornado swept one of the destroyed ships into itself.

Kaleb was able to observe two lights within that darkness. They were very similar to the Hound's eyes. He immediately knew that this thing was another of Black Hat's guards ready to prevent the prisoners from leaving the book.

The being began to take shape, simulating a pair of arms and expelling a series of spikes made of ice from it's body to form a limb and a face. On the other side, the darkness attached itself to an old anchor stranded nearby and took it as a weapon.

-Get ready! -Tabet yelled, as he took up a fighting stance-. Yoo stay in the Rash'aangu -he told Kaleb-. Now we need yoor guiding voice. Help us find the weak point of this thing. We are counting on yoo! -he yelled.

The huachis jumped into the water with their weapons and began to swim towards the beast. They were ready to fight Ma'ldema R'he
