... at floor 13.
-YES! We did it! -Kaleb said happily.
The huge metal doors of the elevator open, revealing the entrance to the monumental labyrinth on the other side.
As Kaleb walked out of the elevator, he could see the colossal size of the place. The ceiling seemed to be miles away and the way the whole place was built reminded him of a very old cathedral or temple. only this one had no stained glass windows, and the only lighting came from several sconces built into the walls, which emitted a strange greenish light.
In front of him was the monumental labyrinth. It looked like a huge wall. As he got closer, he realized that it was made of a type of metal that he had never seen before. Plates of it were stuck together, with hundreds of embedded rivets. The boy walked to the side just to see if there was a way around the labyrinth, but found that it's colossal walls were so long that they were completely embedded in both side walls, and there was not a single crack through it which could be seen.
Kaleb looked back up and found that the height of the walls was just as immense.
-Well, there goes my plan to climb it -said the boy.
After a short jog, he returned to the entrance of the labyrinth, the only place in the wall with an opening, which was decorated with a huge gothic-style frame that clearly indicated the access point.
Kaleb noticed something next to the frame on the right side, set at a person's height. He walked over to see a metal plate embedded in the wall. The plate looked ancient, but somehow didn't have a trace of dust or wear. A message was engraved on it with mastery and elegance. The letters had a very careful relief that contrasted with an archaic and coarse scratched text over it that looked like vandalism:
MALUM TENEBRIS PETASUM
-An eye in the sky... it means you! -he told you excitedly-. You can see it and guide me to a way out. There is no time to lose. I'm ready to get out of here -Kaleb said as he adjusted his backpack and prepared to enter the maze-. I'm going to enter, you guide me from above, I'll follow the path you indicate -he told you, determined-. I trust you -was the last thing the boy told you, before entering what seemed like the jaws of the tremendous labyrinth.
