-So you want to face the beast that cursed you? Is that why you need me? Do you want me to guide you to him? -Kaleb said to the pirate.

-Face it? -Fuego smiled-. It would be very ridiculous, facing him, don't you think? Black Hat? But you can fool him... I'm sure. We are going to escape from here and once that happens, I am sure that in the real world there will be more than a thousand riches of gold that we can devour without fear of running out, and that will help us buy time in which we find a way to break the curse. Then I will take revenge once and for all. It is said that there is only one way to get out of this prison and that is by finding "The End of the Book" -said Fuego to the boy.

-I have heard the legend -responded Kaleb.

-Of course you have, I'm sure you and your "guide" were looking for it when we first met. Well let me tell you, this is your lucky day, because we found it a long time ago...

Kaleb couldn't hide his curious expression.

-Oh, yes -said Fuego-. It is found in a series of tunnels and catacombs that are commonly known as "the Ribs". Unfortunately that place is as mysterious as it is deadly. It is said that it can only be crossed by "he who has an eye in the sky", and fortunately, that is you... -the captain laughd again, while he tried to look for you again with his eyes.

-Tomorrow morning, we will arrive at Costillar and there they will guide us through its dangerous waters until we find the exit.

-And what makes you think that my guide and I are going to help you? -Kaleb asked the pirate defiantly.

Captain Fuego smiled.

-That if you don't, I'm not just going to fry you to the bone... -The captain took from his coat the huachi dagger that Tabet had offered Kaleb-. Instead, I'll spend what's left of my life eliminating every single one of those damned creatures.

-Don't you dare touch them! -the boy yelled and stood up.

The captain smiled and slowly approached the boy.

-Listen well... child. If you don't lead me out of here, I promise you by the marrow of bloody Lazarus that I will burn every huachi until not one is left alive.

Kaleb sat back down, overwhelmed with helplessness, anger, and fear of what might happen to the huachis. Fuego had threatened him with the only thing that was important to him within this prison.

-It's good that you're reasonable -the captain smiled with satisfaction. He knew that he had found the boy's weakness-. But if you should still think of escaping through death, let me tell you, it will be in vain. We'll just use this... -the captain took a small bottle from an inside pocket of his jacket. In it was glowing orange water-. These are Tears of CempasĂșchil -explained Fuego-. Just sprinkle a few drops on the body that belonged to the spirit in life, to bring it back to the world of the living... so don't think you'll be able to escape this so easily.

Kaleb looked at you. He knew the captain was right and there was no escape. He was now a captive of circumstances and for the good of the huachis he had to guide him towards the End of the Book.

The two pirates went back inside to escort Kaleb out of the cabin. As he walked he could see that near the entrance the captain had a small collection of huachi items: pieces of armor, some hooks and spears, among other things. But among all of them he saw the captain place the dagger that Tabet had given him, turning it into another trophy for another of his victims.
