-Damn you! -yelled Kaleb.

It seemed that you had given him enough courage to take justice into his hands, for the boy drew the dagger that Tabet had given him and ran towards the captain with all his might. It seemed as if at that moment all fear he felt had been replaced by rage, because despite the fact that the boy was not even remotely as good as that huachi warrior, whom he intended to avenge, he rushed at the captain without fear, to death itself.

The huge, heartless pirate, however, was large and no doubt experienced in hand-to-hand combat, so with a swift movement he turned so that his arm of fire was covered by the rest of his body. As if he didn't want to fatally wound the boy or he just wasn't worth being executed by his most powerful weapon.

With his human hand he seized the boy's arm carrying the dagger before he could strike and lifted him up.

The captain subdued Kaleb by twisting his arm and wrist in a way that made him kneel on the ground, dropping the dagger. The boy's groan, still full of anger, turned into a guttural sound when the pirate's gigantic hand grabbed his neck and lifted him off the ground.

-Look at the little wretch -he said mockingly-. What were you hoping to do with that? -he asked, referring to the huachi dagger-. What audacity or rather... what stupidity to launch yourself like that against an enemy. Especially one who could break your neck with the least effort. But don't feel special, I'm not that benevolent, you filthy rat. Give thanks that you have the voice or you would have been charred by now.

Kaleb's eyes widened as he suddenly felt intense pain in his neck. The shortness of breath and anger were fading little by little, overshadowed by the anguish that this bastard had realized that he has a connection to you.

The captain must have seen that, for he just smiled mischievously as he whispered to the boy.

-You thought I wouldn't notice how you turned to the sky like a filthy pup desperately seeking guidance, didn't you?

Kaleb broke out in a cold sweat.

-For years I have been waiting for someone like you to appear, someone who can communicate with the one who reads from the outside. Who would have thought that thanks to those putrid huachis I would find you and... you!

Kaleb felt his shortness of breath double after hearing that.

-Are you listening to me?! -Despite the fact that he kept looking the boy in the eye, the captain hadn't asked young Kaleb that, he had asked you. -I could end the miserable life of this worm at any moment, it's just a matter of applying enough force... -he said as he squeezed the hand that held the boy's neck.

You could see Kaleb panting more, his cries of pain increasing. His face began to swell and change color.

-But I won't -and saying this, he let go of the boy, who fell to the ground, gasping and coughing trying to catch his breath.

This time the soulless pirate turned to see you directly.

-I am Captain Fernando Fuego and you are going to guide me out of this cursed place -the captain was speaking directly to you.

-Because if you don't, I'm going to fry this filth until he's nothing but ashes. You hear me? -he yelled.

The captain placed his claw made of flames over the boy, threatening to unleash the incandescent fire.

Kaleb looked at you and shook his head, still coughing and gasping fo air, but he wanted to signal to you not to give in.

-So... what's it going to be? Will you help me or do we make the boy into a nice campfire? Huh?!

-"I'll help you. Let the boy go." >
-"I won't help you." >
