Kaleb took the spear and fired into the face of the Ma'ldema R'he.
The monster was recovering when the plasma shots struck the ice sheet covering its face. The Ma'ldema R'he seemed gravely shaken instantly. Three shots sufficed to destroy a small sliver of the ice that protected it, revealing that the two lights peeking out of the holes was more like a single gigantic, pulsing violet light.
The Ma'ldema R'he covered its face and used the ice from its hand to rebuild its mask. Seeing this, Kaleb shot it again, taking advantage of this vulnerability.
The Ma'ldema R'he's mask cracked again until it broke. This time the boy walked quickly to a position from which he could continue shooting at its face.
The Ma'ldema R'he, desperate, used its hand covering itself to attack Kaleb, turning it into a great stalactite of ice that it threw at the boy.
Kaleb managed to dodge it by throwing himself to the side, but the impact caused the ice to break and he dropped the spear.
The Ma'ldema R'he was preparing to attack the unarmed boy. He saw it raise its arm again and was sure that this would be his end.
